POLICE are investigating a suspected arson attack which destroyed part of the roof of a building at the historic Tonedale Mill in Wellington on Saturday evening.

The blaze was in one of the old single-storey buildings at the edge of the site near Weavers Reach.

A police spokesman said: “We can confirm that the fire is being treated as deliberate and an investigation is under way.”
