Police seized a car from a road in Wiveliscombe on Thursday.
Officers from Avon and Somerset Police called a recovery lorry to retrieve the vehicle, after they discovered it was untaxed.
Pictures of the seizure were posted to social media by the police, who reported: "An Untaxed Vehicle was seized from the Highway in Wiveliscombe today."
The ability to seize untaxed vehicles rests with the DVLA, who devolve the power to a number of organisations, including police forces.

The DVLA estimates 1.6 per cent of drivers evade Road Tax, costing the government £94 million per year.
The authorities are able to seize untaxed cars, and issue a fine of up to £1000 to their owners.
