MOST Devon and Somerset county and district councillors invited to the annual meeting of the Blackdown Hills Parish Network last month did not open their emails or even respond.

The network represents the 39 parish councils which make up the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The meeting was told that four of six county councillors did not open their email invitations. Two attended, one of whom had not opened the email. Nine of 11 district councillors opened theirs but just three responded.
