POSTCARDS owned by an undisclosed Wellington vendor have sold for thousands of pounds at auction.
The collection, sold by Charterhouse in Sherborne, made just over £3,000 with £450 paid for the top lot, a collection of Devon-related postcards. An album relating just to Wellington sold for £240.

Somerset, Devon, Cornwall and Dorset were well represented, and showed that many of the villages have not changed much while others have changed beyond all recognition.
Charterhouse director Richard Bromell said the owner had a lifelong interest in collecting postcards but had decided to sell his collection because of ill health.
