Beech Grove Primary School in Wellington held a family May Day event with classes putting on entertainment and the friends of the school providing refreshments and cream teas. Classes performed traditional folk dances including Maypole, poems and songs. A ‘Springtime’ theme cake competition was also held. The afternoon provided a community atmosphere and raised money for extra opportunities at the school.
