PUPILS from Wellesley Park Primary School in Wellington enjoyed a host of adventurous activities on a visit to Mill on the Brue in Bruton.

The Year 6 youngsters took part in activities including building and sailing a raft down a river, scaling a complex climbing wall, tunnelling and flying down a huge zip wire.

The pupils remained cheerful in the face of rain, thunder and lightning – and proved themselves great eaters.

The delicious food at Mill on the Brue encouraged them to become ‘Zero Heroes’, which meant they produced no food waste over the week they were there. They were rewarded with a certificate and wrist bands.

Many of the children had to overcome their fears of heights, darkness and unfamiliar food, as well as being away from home and school.
