PUPILS from Beech Grove Primary School in Wellington have sat in on a debate in the House of Commons and visited the House of Lords.

The Year 6 youngsters spent a day visiting Parliament’s Education Service, toured the historic building and met Taunton Deane MP Rebecca Pow, who answered their questions.

They were in awe of the architecture but one pupil commented that they ‘wouldn’t like the job of dusting and cleaning windows’.

Workshops helped to reinforce the British Values teaching the school promotes within the curriculum. The visit inspired the pupils to write letters to Ms Pow about homelessness.
