STUDENTS from Kingsmead School in Wiveliscombe took to the ‘Open Stage’ to entertain audiences in a variety-style show.
Audiences were wowed by the vast array of talents from students including Enya Kneeshaw (Year 10) rapping the Queen’s Speech, singing, dancing, gymnastics and an amazing magic trick presented by Elliot Risely (Year 9).
A short play, Sparkle Shark, was enacted by students who are part of a drama club organised by Chloe King (Year 10).
Students in the Blue Weasel Choir sang Trail of the Lonesome Pine and Good Morning Baltimore from Hairspray. Comperes on the evenings were Fiona Mansell from Year 9 and Paul Bowler from Year 11.
Head of Drama Elizabeth Vassallo said: “I am so proud of the amount of talent our students have, and Kingsmead’s Open Stage gives them the opportunity to show off what they can do with skills gained in and outside of school. I was very impressed with the variety of acts and the commitment and enthusiasm the students showed for the event.”
Head of Music Naomi Honour said: “I very much look forward to working with these creative students for the next school production.”
