THE ‘Spring Fayre’ staged by Friends of Wellington Park on Sunday was a success despite rain falling for most of the afternoon.

Twenty-five stalls were manned by invited groups including schools, play groups and charities, and the event was organised this year by Sandra Nott and Rosemary Hookway.

But the bad weather prevented the inflatables being put up while the TNT disco had to be cancelled.

Friends’ chairman Irish Ellins, who is also acting secretary, said: “Obviously the weather was disappointing but the event was still well supported.”

All money raised will go to the Friends of Wellington Park.
