THE World Wellington Boot Throwing Championship will be the centrepiece of an afternoon of family fun held at Court Fields School next weekend.

Taunton Deane MP Rebecca Pow will open the seventh annual event and introduce Wellington Majorettes, who will give a display.

In addition to adult and under-tens welly throwing events, Wellington Action Group for Dogs (WAG) is hosting a dog show – entries on the day.

The Federation of Sports is staging mini-taster sessions for children and Wellington Silver Band will start the live music followed by a selection of music organised by Lee Edmead between 2-4pm.
