The Knitted Sheep Trail around Wellington’s shops was a great success again last year with a record number of entries – and the high standard meant the marking had to be strict to find ‘winners’.

The joint seniors winners were Jasmin Cowlin, 11, and Tia Cowlin, ten, closely followed by Maisy Cole, nine. Winners of the juniors were Kohen Jenkins, four, and Pixie Jenkins, seven.

The sheep trail organisers said: “Many thanks to the 61 shops which participated and lovingly cared for the sheep in their care for several weeks in the run-up to Christmas. It was a real wrench having to return them to the flock and they hope to be back again next Christmas.

“Thanks also to the library and the WWN office, and Mount Vets for their help, and the Bible Society which supplied several of the prizes.”
