THE Blackdown Hill Repair Cafe volunteers are looking to put their skills to the test later this month at Hemyock Parish Hall.

Visitors are invited to go along on Saturday, July 28, between 10am and noon and take things along that need to be repaired. That could include electrical items, ceramics, clothing, textiles, computers, furniture, bikes and garden tools.

The volunteer specialists will be on hand to help people with their repairs. Refreshments will be available, while donations for the repairs would be greatly appreciated.

Trisha Comrie, from the group, said: “After just two Repair Cafes, the Blackdown Hills group of volunteer repairers has managed to mend over 80 per cent of the 99 items brought in so far by members of the public. That’s a lot of stuff that has been saved from landfill!

“So, if you have a small electrical appliance or a garden tool that’s broken, a hem that needs taking up, a chair with a wonky leg, or a bike in need of a re-tune, bring it along to the next Repair Cafe at Hemyock Parish Hall.”
