The Repair Café in Wellington is set to re-start in September, after what will have been a hiatus of 18 months, assuming Covid-19 restrictions on such activities have been removed by then.

The Repair Café planning committee agreed at a recent meeting that it was appropriate to make firm plans for the popular and well-supported community activity to resume.

As was the case before last year’s lockdown, the venue will be Wellington Baptist Church hall in South Street, and it is hoped to again offer a wide range of repair services.

More skilled ‘menders’ are needed, especially electricians, who would be willing to volunteer their services for a morning every couple of months.

Further details of the event will be publicised nearer the time.

Organisers will welcome anyone who would like to join the planning committee or be willing to help in practical ways on the day. Contact Holly Regan-Jones on 01823 660161; email [email protected] if interested.
