THE Repair Café in Wellington held another successful event on Saturday, many people going home satisfied with an assortment of items which had been repaired.

Some, however, were disappointed as the event did not have its usual complement of repairers. 

The Repair Café is held in the Baptist Church in South Street and as renovation is about to be carried out there, the date of the event had to be moved, and not all the usual volunteers were able to attend.

Do you have a skill you could offer, perhaps on an occasional basis if you are unable to commit to regular bi-monthly attendance? You don’t need to be a professional, just willing to have a go at mending stuff to save it from being thrown away.

Four electricians attended but items had to be turned away as they were unable to complete all the work in time.
