MORE than 200 packed the Great Hall at Wellington School to launch the town's Poppy Appeal.

The patriotic audience - double the size who attended last year's concert, the first to be held in the town - belted out favourite songs from the First World War, such as It's a Long Way to Tipperary, Pack Up Your Troubles in our Old Kit Bag, and Bye Bye Blackbird, led by Wellington Silver Band and members of Wellington Operatic Society.

Royal British Legion standards were draped across the piled Corps of Drums instruments during a Remembrance Service.
