DRIVERS ignoring a closed road in Rockwell Green have been warned they are committing an offence.
PCSO Steve Hill has posted the warning on his social media page after drivers were seen travelling along the road.
Popes Lane near the Oaken Ground development has been closed while a retaining wall and service trench is constructed.
Somerset County Council says the road will be closed until Friday.
PSCO Hill said: “I have recently seen a lot of posts on Facebook complaining about the road closure at the junction with Oaken Ground and the new flats being built. Can I please remind everyone that SCC and the developers of the new flats in Oaken Ground have applied for a temporary road closure.
“This has been granted and will be in force until the work on the new wall has been completed.
“Can I please remind all residents who have been ignoring the road closure and driving through it, that they are not only committing an offence contrary to the Road Traffic Act but their insurance could be invalid as they have driven past a signed road closure.”
