MEMBERS of WAG went walkies and picked up 218 bags of dog poo from the streets and open spaces of Rockwell Green and Westford on just one afternoon.

The pongy packets picked up by Wellington Action Group for dogs were sealed in a garden waste sack and deposited in a local dog bin.

Speaking after the poo pick, WAG secretary Jeannie Knight said: "Frankly I wasn't surprised so much was picked up.

"Our 2009 dog poo survey, which has been running since February 1, has shown Rockwell Green and Westford as hot spots."
