SANTA welcomed children to his grotto at a Christmas fair at Waterloo Road Community Pre-school in Wellington.

The event at Wellington Methodist Church last Wednesday also included toy, book, tombola, craft and refreshment stalls.

The pre-school, which has 30 children aged two to five, was recently presented with more than £3,000 by the town’s Co-op. It is deciding how to spend the money, although improvements to the garden are planned.

Mayor of Wellington Cllr Gary James and his wife Mayoress Bee James opened the event. They are pictured with preschool manager Tracey Rowland, Santa and children.
