Children and adults will be meeting Santa in a range of events Wiveliscombe Rotary Club has organised.

Father Christmas will arrive at The Square in Wiveliscombe on Wednesday (December 7) at 5pm and accompanied by pupils from Wiveliscombe Primary School he will switch on the town’s Christmas lights.

Immediately afterwards local children will have an opportunity to meet Santa in his igloo in The Square and to receive a present from him. Food and drink including roast chestnuts will also be on offer.

As in the past few years, a ticket system will be in operation for Father Christmas, so children will not have to wait for long in a queue and special arrangements will be made for the youngest children.

Over the following week the Rotary Club will be ensuring that Father Christmas tours the area meeting young and old alike on the following dates: Friday, December 9 – Cotford St Luke; Saturday, December 10 – Cotford St Luke; Monday, December 12 – Wiveliscombe South and East; Tuesday, December 13 – Milverton; Wednesday, December 14 – Wiveliscombe North and West; Thursday, December 15 – Langley Marsh.

Then on Christmas Day Santa will visit homes to deliver presents personally. Any presents for delivery should be left at Webbers estate agents in Wiveliscombe not later than 1pm on Wednesday, December 21. A modest charge per item will go to good causes.
