Staff at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton have thanked Wellington woman Sarah Almond after she helped raise more than £1,000 for the hospital’s Eliot Ward.
Sarah’s grandmother Joan, who lived at Five Post Close, Wellington, died at Musgrove last September and she wanted to raise money for the ward as a thank you for the care and attention her grandmother received until she died.
Sarah, who lives at Beech Hill, held a charity draw at the Ashill Inn in Ashill, Devon, where she works, which raised £660 and with £350 raised at the funeral collection was able to give a total of £1,010. The money will go towards a new day room for Eliot Ward.
A spokesperson for the hospital said: “Thanks to Sarah for her generosity and helping us give our patients the best standards of care during their stay at Musgrove Park Hospital.”
