STAFF at Court Fields School in Wellington treated students to a buffet at their final assembly and allowed youngsters to sign each other’s school shirts with messages of support.

Students were also treated to videos and slideshows of their younger years, which prompted laughter and some tears.

The Year 11 students completed all of their GCSE examinations over a six-week period and have now left the school.

Heads of house gave awards to students who had gone the extra mile often through adversity or who contributed beyond what was expected giving back to others and the school.

Chairman of Governors Mrs Naylor joined staff and students to celebrate the achievements of Megan Beale, who won the Governors’ Cup, and Josh Corby, who was runner-up.

Megan and Josh over their five years at Court Fields showed resilience, commitment and generosity to others and made the most of all the opportunities presented to them.

Headteacher Rachael Bennett said: “This is a tremendous achievement for Megan and Josh who have worked hard every day at school and shown true leadership qualities through sport, outdoor education, fundraising and student leadership.

“I congratulate them both and indeed all of the Year 11 students who were nominated by their teachers for their efforts and contribution to school life.”
