MOTORISTS in the Wellington area are being invited to support a scout group and a local charity by having their cars washed at a fundraiser being held next month.

Rumwell Farm Shop and the 1st Wellington Scout Group have teamed up once again but this time to raise money for Somerset Unit for Radiotherapy Equipment (SURE) and the scout group on Saturday, October 1.

The car wash is being held in the car park of the farm shop on the A38 between Taunton and Wellington, from 10am until 4pm, and will cost £4 per vehicle with £2 going to the Wellington Scouts and £2 to S.U.R.E.

Dave Belfield, executive chairman at the 1st Wellington Scout Group, said: “We’re looking forward to attending our second car wash of the year at Rumwell Farm Shop. We hope people in the area once again get behind the fundraiser and pop along with their dirty vehicles. The scouts are raring to go and ready to make each car squeaky clean.

“The money raised will be going towards improving the scouts’ camping and activities equipment benefiting all age groups across Scouts, Cubs and Beavers.”
