CUSTOMERS and staff have helped the Wellington branch of RGB Building Supplies raise hundreds of ponds for a good cause.
RGB staged a penalty shoot-out, as football fever gripped the nation, with the company’s mascot Archie Bee in goal.
Penalty takers made a £1 donation and all those who scored were entered into a prize draw to win a Sharp 49” LED TV. Some £389.73 was raised for Children’s Hospice South West.
Branch manager Paul Fleming said: “The penalty shoot-out was great fun and, although Archie Bee’s performance wasn’t quite up to the standard of Jordan Pickford, he did save a fair few shots! We’d like to thank all our customers who took part for helping us to raise funds for Children’s Hospice South West.”
Children’s Hospice South West is RGB Building Supplies’ chosen charity and the builder’s merchant is organising a number of events to raise funds. The hospice provides care for children with life-limiting conditions and their families across the South-West.
