HUNDREDS of patriotic music lovers attended Wellington Silver Band’s Proms in the Park on Saturday night.
The band treated the town to a free show – and the weather remained fine throughout. Some revellers joined in the spirit of the night by wearing Proms gear and plenty of Union Flags were on show.
Refreshments were on offer and the popular Vintage Inn hog roast, with landlord Dave Lock, did plenty of business.
Wellington Silver Band was established in 1887 and in July this year is 130 years old. It has an eclectic repertoire of music that includes traditional brass band marches, classical, pop, show tunes and film themes.
