Wellington Churches Together organised a Knitted Sheep Trail, as usual, around the town’s shops in the weeks running up to Christmas.
The flock of 62 sheep wandered off to the local shops, where they were lovingly looked after until Christmas. Children of all ages were asked to help the shepherds find the lost sheep so they could be collected up and returned to the fold.
Winners were announced at the
Christingle Service at St John’s Church on Christmas Eve.
Overall winners were sisters Jasmin and Tina Cowling who each received a puzzle book and a snow scene model to share, given by Shooz of South Street.
Runners-up were Maisy Cole, Alfie Cole, Sienna Bowler, Zach Bowler, Rowan Bere, Jago Sidell, Lucy Phillips and Sienna Collins.
Before returning to the fold several sheep went to different churches to be part of their Nativity displays.
Churches Together would like to thank all the shops which took part in the event, and the town library, WWN and town council for their help and support.
A spokesperson for the group said: “Well done to all those who took part and helped to find the missing sheep.”
