The Fezz, six guys who love the music of Steely Dan, are coming to Cotleigh Brewery, Ford Road, Wiveliscombe, on Saturday.

They will be playing some of Steely Dan’s best songs, including Do It Again, Kid Charlemagne, My Old School, Peg, Home At Last, Pretzel Logic, Reelin’ In The Years and many more.

They do not attempt a note by note, bar by bar, recreation of Steely Dan’s meticulously crafted tracks but they do capture the feel and spirit of one of the most sophisticated and inventive US bands of the second half of the 20th Century.

Steely Dan’s songs form most of their set but they also play music by others from the 1970s and 1980s in the style of Little Feat, Bill Withers, The Average White Band, Robert Cray and much more.

The Fezz are Alan Davies (guitar), Colin Warren (bass), Robin Powell (keyboards, backing vocals), Morris Windsor (drums, backing vocals), Jim Melton (lead vocals, congas and other percussion) and John Denton (lead vocals and guitar).

Several members were also in the highly influential Soft Boys who launched Robyn Hitchcock’s career.

The Fezz have already built an avid following in Gloucestershire and Worcestershire, playing festivals and clubs.

Advance tickets are £6 from Wiveliscombe post office or reserve by phoning Eddie on 07817 190320. Tickets on the door are £8. Doors open 7.30pm, music from 8-10.45pm.
