SUPER slimmer Lauren Brock has helped members of her Slimming World group in Rockwell Green lose 64 stone between them in the three months since the group started – after losing seven stone herself.

The weight lost by group members is the equivalent to two adult zebras – and Lauren met one of the species, stallion Graham, on a visit to Axe Valley Wildlife Park.

She is now taking a break before launching another group in time for Easter for those unable to attend the group on Monday at 7pm at Rockwell Green Christian Centre.

Zebras are well known to be herd animals – happy in a group, and the group environment is what she says has created success for her members.

She said: “The group is where you’ll be supported to find a fun and successful way of losing weight, overcoming any obstacles that life might throw at you. Food and drink have become quite a social habit, and this has led to an increase in obesity, and not just in adults.”

Lauren says she was shocked to find that nearly 16 per cent of children in Somerset are classed obese. “I feel by helping adults to adapt healthier eating habits, and taking control of their own weight, it will help reduce obesity in the next generation, and they can do this by eating socially, together.”
