THE next Silver Street Session at Cotleigh Brewery, Wiveliscombe, is a mini Somerset showcase with Kitty Macfarlane.

Kitty Macfarlane, 22, is a Somerset-based singer and songwriter. Her lyrics combine honest snapshots of everyday humanity with the bigger questions that have connected minds and voices for centuries, driven by her own finger-picked guitar.

Performance highlights range from Bristol Folk Festival to the Exeter Corn Exchange, supports for Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman, Alasdair Roberts, Blair Dunlop, The Elephant Sessions, Ange Hardy, Reg Meuross, Feast of Fiddles and more.

Last year she was selected for the semi-final of the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award with a formative weekend of music in Kendal, and in the summer she embarked on a collaborative songwriting residential for an emerging talent documentary with BBC Introducing in the West.

Kitty will be supported by fiddle singer Hannah Cumming (Dyer Cummings) and singer and bouzouki player Sam Patten (Hobson’s Choice).

The concert is on Saturday, October 8 – doors open at 7.30pm with the concert at 8pm. Tickets are £10/£8.
