A GOOD crowd turned out for a soup lunch in the Baptist Church Hall in Wellington when £344 was raised for Christian Aid.

Many thanks go to all who supported this event and to the team of helpers, including those who made the delicious soups of different varieties.

Christian Aid Week this year runs from May 11–18, the focus being All Mums Should Live, which aims to reduce deaths of mothers and their babies in childbirth. For example, in Sierra Leone ten women die giving birth every day.

A concert featuring local talent and art will be held during the week at St John’s Church on Saturday, May 18, at 7pm. For more information go to [email protected]
