ST MARGARET’S Somerset Hospice is holding a coffee morning this week at St John’s Church Hall in High Street with the aim of recruiting more supporters.

Fundraising volunteer co-ordinator Susan Bickle and community fundraiser Calista Renault will tell visitors about the work the hospice does and how they can help it by volunteering or setting up a fundraising group.

Susan said: “Without our army of dedicated volunteers St Margaret’s Hospice could not survive. Volunteers are embedded in every area of the hospice, from reception staff to gardening, and everything in between.

“However, we really need more volunteers in the Wellington area and if people are able to offer their time we are sure we will have a volunteer role that would suit them – even if they can only spare an hour a year!”

Calista Renault, St Margaret’s community fundraiser for West Somerset and Taunton Areas, added: “We already have a small band of amazing volunteers who help us raise funds locally but hope more local people may come forward who could give a few hours a year to help us raise the funds we need to support our services.

“Perhaps you could help at our events or by hosting activities such as a coffee morning, open garden, cake sale, raffle or sweepstake – in fact, anything that is fun and enjoyable.”

The coffee morning is on Wednesday, October 10, from 10.30am.
