STALWART of Taunton Deane Audio News [TDAN] Gillian Robson has stepped down as a trustee and secretary to the committee after 25 years of service.

Her work, recording the minutes of the quarterly meetings and the annual meeting, and sometimes dealing with correspondence – entirely voluntarily – was greatly appreciated, said chairman Andrew Janes.

She was presented with a bouquet at the annual meeting. Gillian said she would continue to offer her time as a reader, when needed.

The weekly Talking News is prepared by a team of volunteers, who record one-hour excerpts from the WWN and the Somerset County Gazette, and distribute it on a USB memory stick to about 100 visually impaired listeners. This can be played on a computer or a loaned mini player.
