VISITORS to Coldharbour Mill were treated to some special guests when a group of steampunks visited to enjoy a Steam Day.
Steampunks tend to dress in Victorian costume with a science fiction twist, resembling something out of a Jules Verne or HG Wells novel.
One, by the name of Mike, even showed visitors the van in which he lives. It resembles a standard vehicle from the outside but the doors open to reveal a magical interior of Victorian-style gizmos and gadgetry all designed and invented by its owner. It also includes a bed and washing and cooking facilities.
Coldharbour Mill’s next Steam Day is on Bank Holiday Monday, May 29, when Flotsam the Fool’s Circus are returning to show off their crazy circus skills.
