A MASSIVE steel and glass Memorial Poppy is coming Wellington on Monday as part of commemorations for the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War.

The poppy contains individual handwritten names of more than a million men and women who went missing or were killed during the First World War.
Exactly 1,115,471 poppies are inside the memorial, commemorating service personnel, including 800 women, crewmen of fishing fleets and more than 300 soldiers shot at dawn.
The Poppy of Honour will be outside the main Post Office in High Street from 9am-4.30pm. Refreshments will be available by the poppy with proceeds going to the Poppy Appeal.
