STUDENTS at Court Fields School in Wellington have received ‘Royal Mail’ from the office of HRH Prince Harry.
The Year 7 students researched the prince as part of a literacy project and were surprised to discover that Prince Harry is dyslexic. They wrote formal letters to him, asking how his dyslexia impacts on his role as a prince – for example, when he has to give speeches to large crowds of people. The students were delighted to receive individual letters from his office and a photograph.
One student said: “The letters came in a big envelope, marked Buckingham Palace. It’s exciting to get a letter because most people send emails now.”
The project involved detailed research using a range of sources and researching the rules of formal letter writing, including how to address Royalty. The students then wrote to HRH Prince Harry saying what they admired about him and asked questions they were curious about.
