Court Fields School in Wellington has been selected as a finalist in RGB Building Supplies’ Well Built Community Fund – and it’s now down to a public vote to decide if the school is chosen to receive £1,000 to spend on timber and landscaping materials.

The school has recently launched an Eco Council made up of students and staff. The group would like to transform an unused bike shed into a natural space. Plans include painting the shelter and adding a grass or moss roof so it blends in, as well as creating a bug hotel and installing bird boxes and raised beds. If voted as the winner, the school will use the donation to purchase the necessary materials.

As this is RGB’s final Community Fund before it is refreshed and relaunched in 2021, the builders merchant has chosen ten finalists from across the region to go through to the public vote.

Ed Hegarty, branch manager at RGB Wellington, said: “Court Fields School has a fantastic project, and as the local branch, we’re encouraging people in the area to get involved and vote for them.”

The community can vote by visiting RGB’s Facebook page and liking the photo in the Community Fund album that represents the group, school or charity they would like to see win – the album will be pinned to the top of the page. Alternatively, votes can be cast by emailing [email protected] and putting the name of the group being voted for in the subject line.

Voting will run until 8am on Monday, March 30. Votes cast outside these dates will not be counted.

The winner of the £1,000 to spend at an RGB branch will be the group that receives the most votes. Terms and conditions can be viewed on RGB’s website – www.rgbltd.co.uk
