CHILDREN on their school holidays can enjoy storytelling at Wellington Basins this month with Marianne Kavanagh.
The qualified teacher has offered to tell stories to families on Tuesdays August 7, 14, 21 and 28 at 2.30pm.
The stories will last about 30-45 minutes and allow for interaction and reflective thought. Some of the stories are traditional tales and some will have an international theme.
Parents are asked to accompany their children, and seating will be on the grass and the logs by the ponds. Coffee, tea or squash will be available from the Basins’ cabins free of charge but donations will be welcome.
Marianne has much experience telling stories and enjoys the interaction of being with families and sharing the enjoyment of imagination about the tales she will tell.
Most of the stories are suitable for primary aged children but everyone is welcome.
Marianne is also a life celebrant qualified to perform at non-religious naming, wedding and funeral ceremonies, where she also uses her storytelling skills.
The story time will be very enjoyable and the Basins’ committee look forward to the event.
