STUDENTS from Court Fields Community School, Wellington and Kingsmead Community School, Wiveliscombe were among 250 young people from local schools around Somerset who took part in the annual Somerset College Summer School.

The intensive week of activities for year nine students helps them develop practical skills and in some areas can contribute towards their GCSEs.

Students tried out everything from art, beauty and sport to construction, computer gaming, catering and animation, as well as a new course called living landscape.
