THE Basins Volunteer Group held its annual barbecue at the site.

Members of other local environmental community groups, friends, representatives from Wellington Town Council and Wellington Petanque Club joined the committee.

Chairman Jenny Vickery gave a warm welcome to everyone and thanked them for their support.

Deputy Mayor Mark Lithgow and Cllr Andrew Govier said how much the council appreciated the hard work the Basins Volunteers do to maintain the Basins as a lovely area for the benefit of the community.

Glorious weather helped make it a very enjoyable and friendly afternoon.
