VILLAGERS in Milverton hoping to save their doctors’ practice from closure had until Monday (September 4) to make their views known.

Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, which has run the facility for the past year, has said it believes ‘the safest and best way’ forward is to close the surgery, forcing patients to travel three miles to Wiveliscombe for appointments.

Milverton Parish Council has made representations to NHS England, saying the elderly, people without transport and families with young children will be worst affected if the village loses its surgery.
