YOUNGSTERS at Wiveliscombe Primary School braved rain and gale force winds when they unveiled a Friendship Post at the school.
The post, which stands in the centre of the school playground, is the result of a two-day workshop in the school during the 10 Parishes Festival in September, when the pupils explored clay and friendship.
They made tiles with natural and man-made pressed shapes and added statements such as 'Respect', 'Tell someone you like them', and 'Enjoy all differences'.
The post was planned by Laura McKechnie, art co-ordinator at the school and local artists Jo Dove and Sara Fairfax, who have children at the school.
It is hoped the post, which was funded by the PTFA and the school's Arts Fund, will become a symbol of friendship and a meeting place for those who feel lonely or worried or in need of a friend.
