A STUDENT at Court Fields School in Wellington has been presented with a trophy in recognition of her volunteering work.
Libby Aldridge, a member of Taunton Deane Swimming Club for the last five years, has been awarded a trophy by the Amateur Swimming Association to congratulate her on her volunteering work supporting a wide range of swimming events in Somerset and the South-West.
Year 11 student Libby volunteers to coach teenagers for the swimming club and to teach children aged four to ten how to swim.
She is a successful swimmer herself – her favourite event is the 200m backstroke. She has competed in the county championships and done very well.
Court Fields headteacher Rachael Bennett said: “It is always great to hear how our students achieve well out of school and are committed to developing themselves with skills and teamwork which will stand them in good stead for adult life and work.
“We are very proud that many of our students like Libby help and support others in their community.”
