RESIDENTS at a nursing home near Wellington have been invited to experience the vibrant tastes and sounds of South Asia at a special Indian Day.
The event at Camelot House & Lodge involved all staff including, kitchen, management, domestic, nursing, laundry and maintenance.
Activities co-ordinators Richard Dempslake from Camelot House and Angie Moore from Camelot Lodge organised the event.
Richard said: “It was lovely to see all the staff getting involved and entering into the swing. Our residents were entranced and enjoyed taking part in the celebrations. Music and dance have the ability to touch people at a deep level.”
Indian members of staff donned traditional outfits and make-up to perform Bollywood dance routines accompanied by music.
