THE Nynehead ‘Village Life’ Flower Festival was a great success, with many visitors attending over the three-day event.
Jointly organised by Nynehead Church and Nynehead Court, the festival was a celebration of the contribution made by many local groups to village life and included displays by the Apple County Quilters, Friends of Nynehead Court, Nynehead Amateur Dramatic Society, Nynehead Church and All Saints Flower Ladies, Nynehead Gardening Club, Nynehead and District Local History Society, Nynehead Pre-School, Nynehead Memorial Hall, and Nynehead Court residents.
The church was full for the Harvest Service on Sunday morning, which was followed by the Harvest lunch, and visitors spent the afternoon enjoying the fine displays in the church. Almost £950 was collected through donations and the sale of plants and refreshments during the event.
Angela Watkins, manager of Nynehead Court, said: “We were delighted that so many people attended the Flower Festival and Harvest Service.
“We would like to thank the local groups who volunteered their time and skills to create the wonderful displays, and also the many ladies and gentleman who contributed in other ways.”
