Snger-songwriter Adam Isaac, who grew up in Uffculme, is making a comeback with a new album while battling a life-threatening illness.
Adam, 37, reached the finals of BBC’s The Voice UK in 2012 and has since been performing original music and covers around Europe and the UK.
In November last year Adam was diagnosed with Stage 5 kidney failure due to a rare disease known as lgA Nephropathy (Berger’s disease).
He is now waiting for a kidney transplant, while keeping his condition as stable as possible with dialysis four times a day.
During lockdown last year Adam decided to turn his life experiences into positive and optimistic songs, in the hope of recording his new album and performing his new material with the original band he played with at his sell-out Exeter Phoenix show in 2013.
Adam has since teamed up with an old friend, local music promoter Sarah Lacey, who runs the Loft Live Sessions music events at The Corn Barn, Cullompton.
A show featuring Adam Isaac and his band, with support from friends such as Exeter-based funksters Pattern Pusher, Alex Hart and Club Brothers is set to take place on Wednesday, August 25.
All proceeds from the event will go towards Adam’s new album, currently being recorded by popular Brighton-based band, Will & The People.
A fundraising page has been set up for Adam by his friends where people can read more about his story and donate – www.gofundme.com/f/help-fund-adam-isaacs-new-album
In a recent social media post, Adam said: “Having some serious health issues was a wake-up call and I’m determined to turn the negative into a positive! There are still some exciting days to come.”
Tickets for the forthcoming Adam Isaac & Friends show are available strictly in advance only from www.loftlivesessions.com
