Wellington woman Theresa Shutler has handed over thousands of pounds she has raised for St Margaret’s Hospice Care.

Theresa started fundraising last year, when she held an event at Oake Manor Golf Club, and since then has organised other events including selling furniture and holding car boot sales.

Now, after raising £5,683.63, she has handed over a cheque at the charity’s base in Taunton to area fundraising manager Kara Frampton.

Theresa said: “I couldn’t have raised this amount of money without the help of my partner John, my son Alex, his girlfriend Megan and all of the other local people and businesses who very kindly donated items.”

Kara said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to Theresa, her family and all those who helped her with her fundraising efforts. You have all helped the hospice continue to provide care and support for patients and their families throughout Somerset, especially during these unprecedented times.”
