WELLINGTON Running Club members have taken part in a Sports Relief challenge around the town.
Twenty-nine runners donated money to run a marked two-mile loop around Wellington on Saturday (March 14).
Starting and stopping in the High Street the club provided water and snacks, along with cakes, to fuel the fundraising legs.
Some did the loop once and others as many times as possible in the four-hour time limit. Many recorded personal best distances despite mixed weather.
Further club members and family also donated, swelling the club’s online Just Giving page to £700.
Paul Booker and Vince Reid completed ten loops of the course – a total of 20 miles each.
A club spokesman said: “This was an amazing sum of money raised by such a small number of runners.”
