ALTHOUGH it is still February, the warm weather and beautiful sunshine are certainly welcome.

The gardens too are showing their appreciation with daffodils and baby iris blooming and tulip buds beginning to appear. This prompted me to remind WWN readers that Wellington Spring Flower Show will take place on Saturday, April 6, at Wellington Prep School from 2-4pm.

With Easter so much later this year, it was decided to hold the show in April, rather than March. It is always difficult choosing the right date but it is hoped plenty of flowers and shrubs will transform the hall and please visitors.

The show will have plant stalls and refreshments, as well as plenty of parking. Everyone is welcome to bring along bulbs or blooms. Schedules are available online – www.

Entries should be sent to the secretary or completed online and the deadline is Thursday, April 4. Please think about being part of the show – you can enter just a single bloom or vase of flowers, a single bulb or a pot of bulbs. Sheena Page
