CHARITY fundraiser Tony Walkers, who was intending to hold sponsored silences in Wellington for good causes during international rugby matches this weekend, will be pressing ahead despite the postponement of two of the fixtures.

Christmas at the Wellesley returns with festive talent showcaseThe Italy v England and France v Ireland games have been postponed because of concerns over Coronavirus but Wales v Scotland is going ahead and Tony has decided to carry on with his sponsored silence in aid of breast cancer charities CoppaFeel and Breast Cancer UK.
Tony will be dressed in pink hat, blouse and skirt, and his amended schedule on Saturday (March 14) is: 1.45pm – The Barley Mow, Rockwell Green; 2.15pm – sponsored silence commences during Wales v Scotland; 2.30pm – walk along The Basins to Wellington Rugby Club and watch the rest of the first half and beginning of second half of the match; 3.15pm – walk to The Green Dragon to watch the end of the match; 4pm – walk to The Cottage Inn to carry on the sponsored silence until 7pm when the postponed Italy v England match would have ended.
Tony invites townsfolk to go along and support him on his journey.
