THE organisers of Eat: Wellington are flying high after scooping two top awards in as many weeks.
The team were awarded Best Event Organisers of the Year, by the National Outdoor Event Association (NOEA) for their family of Eat: Festivals. NOEA is the UK’s leading outdoor events trade association.
Eat: Wellington organiser Bev Milner Simonds said: “To be recognised by one’s peers is a phenomenal result and we were delighted to have made the shortlist.
“We pour a lot of love, care and time into creating festivals that work for our visitors, the producers and our host towns.
“We have loved developing Eat: Festivals this year and are delighted to be returning to Wellington and Taunton in 2018.”
Co-organiser Sarah Milner Simonds added: “When the shortlist for the NOEA awards were announced we were delighted to be finalists in three categories – Best PR Campaign, Best Organisers and Best Event.
“To have won is testament to the hard work of the team and the support of our partners and sponsors.
A NOEA spokesperson said: “This recognises two people for their passion and commitment for running multiple events and targeting the next generation.”
The team were also awarded gold at the Bristol, Bath and Somerset Tourism Awards as the Tourism Event of the Year.
Eat: Taunton returns on May 12 and Eat: Wellington on September 1.
