CONTROVERSIAL plans for a block of apartments on the site of the former Wellington Medical Centre at Bulford remained hanging in the balance last night as the developer and council officials wrangled over money.
The scheme, for the proposed demolition of the former medical centre and the development of 42 "later living" apartments, previously given unanimous backing by the town council, had been recommended for refusal by planning officials on the grounds that the site was earmarked for 'vital' retail space.
But at a meeting of the borough council's planning committee last night a three-month deferral was agreed.
